Computer systems used to design and manufacture products. The term CAD/CAM implies that an engineer can use the system both for designing a product and for controlling manufacturing processes. For example, once a design has been produced with the CAD component, the design itself can control the machines that construct the part. This lab is equipped with Design Softwares (Wireframe Model/Surface Model/2D/3D Parts Design, Assembly, Sheet Metal works), Analysis Softwares (Stress, Mode Frequency, Harmonic, Thermal Stress, Heat transfer), Simulation Softwares (Air conditioning system, Hydraulic/Pneumatic cylinder, Cam and Follower mechanism), and Manufacturing Softwares (Part programming for CNC Lathe and CNC Milling, NC Code generation, Tool path simulation).

A basic knowledge of Fluid mechanics and machinery is essential for all the scientists and engineers because they frequently come across a variety of problems involving flow of fluids such as in Aerodynamics, Force of fluid on structural surfaces, Fluid transport. The experiments described in this lab are part of the curriculum of "Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Laboratory" for the degree course in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
